Early on in his long tenure and career, Curtis DeYoung of Utah discovered that to the average investor, actual self directed plans were not only very rare, but practically unavailable.
While the industry was being dominated by brokerage and insurance companies, as well as banks; Curtis DeYoung surmised that a third party admin could assist clients in capitalizing on the growth potential of these types of self directed plans. This comes at a time in which even today a majority of IRA reps only allow for the investments that directly benefit them.
Upon realizing that he would be unable to find a company that permitted him to invest as he preferred, Curtis DeYoung founded American Pension Services. Curtis DeYoung’s “APS” is an authentic, self-directed, retirement plan administration firm.
Curtis DeYoung and his wife Michelle are very proud parents of four beautiful daughters, all varsity cheerleaders, until number four, Hailee, broke with the DeYoung family tradition to become a soccer, basketball, and track star! The family resides in Draper, Utah.
